UPPER MACA Alpine Cameo – Our souls changing flow….

Well Davey boy….

This is it…

Our Cameo? Pluck the Banjo? Or one of many yet to go?

Either way – lets defy the odds my good fellow!

 



WHEN? Sept School Hols….

 

ROUGH ITINERARY:

Days beforehand: Sambain chalet? Morgs place? Licola?

First day:

  • ~13km to Guys hut OR

  • ~21km to Howitt hut (preferred)

Day two:

  • ~10km from Howitt hut to top of freds drop (drop sleds/ ski gear here or beforehand)

  • drag boats down to river campsite

Day three/ four/ five?

  • ~37km? (very rough guess) to caledonia junction

  • ~60 km? (very rough guess) to Licola road!

GRADIENT:

  • ~ First 11km along river flats = ~ 17m/km

  • ~ 2nd 7km section to campsite/ river valley = 14m/km

TO DO’S:

  • Make sled and test

  • wax ski’s!

  • get some cheap ski’s and yowies

  • check/ gather/ organise all rest of gear list

  • food from LEDA

  • Sat ph hire from peninsula?

  • book Sambain?

KAYAK SLED!

  • needs to have: solid plastic base bolted to old classic ski’s

  • strong pole connection to hip harness (Cam strap around all of waist)

FOOD LIST:

Brekkie: porridge sachets, dried fruit, LEDA bars, tea/ coffee

Lunch: wraps, cheese, tuna, cucumber, sun dried toms, scrunced vegie chips. LEDA bars, tea coffee

Dinner: first meal – a precooked/ fresh meal, subsequent meals STRIVE (Getting discounted ones in Tassy)

Dessert/ snacks: chocolate, scrogggin
